About this deal

A US Navy landing party of the USS Florida at Vera Cruz in 1914. Note the wool uniform and formal appearance (image via US Military Forum) I would say that Bronson’s N1 is a 95% accurate replica of the original because, over the years, the brand did take some liberties to change some of the fabrics used. In the brand’s latest version, their N1 has a shell made from 14-oz waterproofed ‘Jungle Cloth’, and has a warm 30-0z wool-poly blend liner. It seems that Bronson doesn't allow for much gap in between sizes. That a 40(L) measurements are still too close to the 38(M) and therefore taking a leap over to the 42(XL) would allow me to maybe wear a sweater under or simply a t-shirt if the weather is too hot.

Since its establishment in October 1775, the United States Navy has grown and developed exponentially over the last 120 years. From the ashes of the Civil War, where maritime warfare was put to the test, to the vast campaigns of the Spanish American War, the beginnings of the Twentieth Century saw the rise of a modern navy. What is strange is that if you look at today’s market, you will see a lot of retailers selling a khaki version. The olive color made it easier for servicemen to blend in and also made it possible for the Navy to stencil in the iconic USN lettering on the chest. Iron Heart’s sadly discontinued B2After staring at the shipment status for about a week now, a parcel is finally on it's way to me, bringing in a Bronson N-1 in navy blue, the more expensive Demotex-Ed version.

In any case, it’s unbelievably dense and resistant to tearing and abrasion, and while I’ve said that about canvas and twill in the past, Bedford cord takes it to another level. I would not wear a N1 if looking at the mirror I would resemble like some japanese guyz with their small build wearing their N1 repro.

There are quite a lot of brands making or have reproduced the N-1, some faithful repros, some with a twist more notable brands apart from usual suspects named by the OP almost all of the Amekaji brands have made one. There are the Pherrow's, At Last & Co, Tenderloin, Trophy Clothing, Colimbo, the Few and Stevenson Overall (not Japanese). Even denim brands like Momotaro and Samurai have their own remakes of the N-1;
