About this deal

This information is based on the K6 600/750 GSXR charging system, since that is what I have. Most GSXRs for at least a decade before and to current models are 99% the same.

Point failure at any part, such as a melted terminal, will eventually cascade into R/R or stator failure (battery voltage drop, more current load on charging circuit, more heat at resistance point, drop in current, battery voltage drops more...)This is where the process of elimination come in. Remember there are really only three components to the charging system. Please note that any piece listed as “ 20-custom” requires you to send your core to us. That is a custom stator rebuild job and we will need your old stator part to rebuild it. The first method works frequently, but can be costly, may not fix the problem and each “repair” that you do has the risk of introducing other problems. i.e. damaging the stator cover by trying to pry it off, etc.

The next test is to see if the stator is functioning correctly. There is no need to open the engine and look at the stator. The electrical tests will tell us what we need to know. I wanted to mount it in the same relative area but in the fairing void to get more air and away from the radiator/header hot air.The stator is just three coils of wire, joined to each other at the ends with a wire tapped off of each of these connection points. That is why there are three yellow wires coming out of the stator. charge the battery with a proper charger, my charger delivers 1A to the battery on the motorcycle setting, So we have the nail and the windings times three, where is the permanent magnet? Why, they are glued into the flywheel/rotor, mounted to the crankshaft that spins around the fixed stator which is mounted in the stator cover.
