About this deal

Sam Stoddard (March 3, 2017). " Designing Modern Masters 2017". magicthegathering.com. Wizards of the Coast. From the Vault: Dragons was released August 29, 2008. [18] It contained 15 cards, all of which were Dragons or Dragon-related, and one of which was a pre-release of a card in the Shards of Alara set. 7 of the cards had new artwork (counting the pre-release). Ashley, Monty (February 7, 2011). "Announcing "From the Vault: Legends" ". Wizards of the Coast. Archived from the original on February 9, 2011 . Retrieved March 26, 2011.

In February 2018, it was announced [17] that the From the Vault series would be cancelled and spiritually succeeded by the Signature Spellbook series. The following is a list of all the From the Vault sets: Ultimate Masters (UMA) was released on December 7, 2018. In the set's official announcement, [12] it was noted that it would have an unusually high price point, but would contain unusually high-value reprints. It is the first Magic set to include a regular-sized "box topper" promotional card with each booster box. Wizards of the Coast announced [12] that it would be the last Masters set for some time; however, Double Masters would be released less than two years later. This is the dual-land cycle I'm second proudest of designing, mostly because the high concept of it entertains me to no end. This is a cycle of five ally future-shifted land cards (aka cards from potential futures) each from its own cycle. Nimbus Maze is a dual land that provides colored mana if you control the other type of basic land (having an Island, for instance, gets you white mana). River of Tears provides one of two colors depending on whether or not you've played a land this turn. Graven Cairns filters one of two colors into any combination of two mana of the two colors. Grove of the Burnwillows has the downside of giving your opponent life. And Horizon Canopy is a dual land that makes you lose a life whenever you get mana out of it, but allows you to trade it in for a new card. Of this cycle, only Graven Cairns has gone on to have its cycle fleshed out (in Shadowmoor and Eventide), but we often discuss making cycles out of the other cards.

I expect the prices of most of these cards to decrease over the next few months. This is especially true of uncommons and commons but also rares and some mythics as well. That said, I'm not sure that MM3 prices will decrease as much as those of other sets because many of the presale prices are actually pretty reasonable. The common "discount" price of a Master-series reprint is somewhere around 50% of the pre-reprinting price, and many of the cards in the set have already decreased by this amount. From the Vault: Twenty was released on August 23, 2013. It contained 20 cards, each of which represented a year in Magic's history, in commemoration of Magic's 20th anniversary. [24] 9 of the cards had new artwork.

LaPille, Tom (2009-08-07). "Meet the Exiled". Wizards of the Coast. Archived from the original on August 10, 2009 . Retrieved 2009-08-24.From the Vault: Exiled was released August 28, 2009. [19] It contained 15 cards, all of which are or were banned or restricted in at least one format. [20] 8 of the cards had new artwork. From the Vault: Realms: was released on August 31, 2012. It contained 15 cards, all of which were lands. [23] 7 of the cards had new artwork.
