About this deal

Well, in a Eureka PN, the VGII does as it's supposed to, but in a Tristar PN, all you're getitng is the sweeping, with no beating as the beaters don't protrude from the nozzle, so it's not as effective as it would be in a Eureka PN or upright vac... :\ As for the missing filter, yes, you can run it without that, but be aware that you may end up blowing pictures off the wall and ornaments off shelves, cos the exhaust, like the suction, is pretty powerful as it's also the blower port. You can buy replacement filters, but these severely restrict the vacuum, though you can improve them by taking a part of the filter out that restricts the airflow (more airflow, cooler motor), and there's also a HEPA prefilter you can use inplace of the basic sponge filter to improve filtration (supposed to be for the later models, but fits the older Compact and Tristar models)... :)

A gentle flow of warm water is soothing to a pup. Wet down the fur and rinse off after shampooing with our four-inch and eight-inch tub faucets. Choose from faucets with the following features: Of course, since my priority is lightweight, this one is no exception. It’s light, easy to coil, flexible, and anti-entailing.A lot of users complain about their costs and bulkiness. But there are plenty of advantages behind this type of hose. Sandy, yours looks great! I'm not too anal about all original, I prefer it, but I'm not obsessive about it. Is this the one that came with the glittered tools? Erik....if it is making a rumbling noise when starting & stopping, that sounds to me like the motor has dry bearings. If it's something you are experienced in & can do yourself, by all means rebuild the motor.

The brushroll that's in my Tristar's PN, as fitted by it's previous owner, is a generic 4-row VibraGroomerII brushroll fitted with VGIII brush strips, and it works superbly, you can add VGIII strips to your proper VGII roll, but to be honest, it'd still effectively be just a 2-row non-beating brushroll because of the above issues with VGIIs in Tristar PNs... The main differences between mine and a domestic (I.E., original US spec) Tristar CXL is the 240v motor I fitted, it has tapered fins which give it a little bit more suction power for the same watts, and the motor is meant for a Henry, but works so much better in the tristar!!! The PN also has a 240v motor, but that works exactly the same as the 120v motor, just on 240v at 50Hz. Everything else, cable included, is as per it was when it lived in the US, I just use a home made US to UK adaptor to power it, so it looks like a 120v machine still, but has a 240v heart... :D These complementary attachments aren’t cheap things. The washer features a solid metal frame that lasts. More than that, It has an ergonomic design with an anti-slip grip.

You are correct that suction - on an empty bag - is pretty much equal on both machines. But later Luxes gained that suction at the expense of motor durability; motor failures from Diamond Jubilee through Ultralux are dishearteningly more frequent than one would like to hear. I actually prefer a pistol grip to a gas pump grip.... just as I prefer straight open handles on uprights to loop styles. The gas pumps get in the way and are just too bulky and I like to think of the dirt going through my hand!

I'm not going to argue about rainbows. I don't like there power nozzles and airflow is not higher than a compact. I like compacts and rainbows equally. Hose. Most TriStar hoses are vinyl covered. Vinyl will last longer if it is cleaned with some kind of protectant. About once a year, clean the hose with a product like Armorall® to keep the vinyl from drying out. Store your hose on a semi-circular hose hanger to avoid sharp bends and kinks. Don’t vacuum up large objects such as wood chips, wads of paper, kid and pet toys or anything that could clog it. The c9 is 42 years old and was top of the line. The loss of airflow is funny it will out perform any electrolux. The compact is 42 and the standards in 1979 it was amazing.

It’s been a while since I bought this hose and applied all kinds of punishments on it to find out if it’s really indestructible. Again it's not trying to say they're bad machine they're just not the be all end all of vacuums some people try to say they are.
